The Hugin class was a class of patrol boats of the Swedish Navy. The 16 ships of the class were built in the years 1975-1982 in Norway.

The main tasks were attack, mining, escort and reconnaissance. These ships were originally fitted with refurbished Pleiad class (1954) engines, minimum speed seven knots entailed special maneuvering in port.

All ships were equipped with the ArtE 726 digital fire control system, specially developed for smaller attack ships, as well as a hull-mounted hydrophone for submarine hunting. All ships were modified with anti-submarine grenade launchers M/84 type Elma. Armament was 6 x Robotsystem 12 (AGM-119 Penguin) anti-ship missiles (SSM), depth-charges or mines, as well as a Bofors 57/L70 Mk.1 general purpose cannon.

On boats that were later modified to the Kaparen class, new low-speed machinery and towed hydrophone were added. The crew was 18-20 people divided between 6-8 officers and 12 conscripts.
