In 29 years of service the ship have traveled 557,224 nautical
miles, diverted 136 offending fishermen or polluters, and provided
assistance to 75 ships in distress. Sterne was handed over to the Naval Training Center (Centre d'Instruction Naval / CIN), Brest and was in use as a static educational platform 2009-2020. Disarmed, she was moved in June 2020 to the Landévennec ship cemetery pending its dismantling. Finally scrapped in Le Havre. Sterne = Tern (bird) |
