The Harushio class is a diesel-electric submarine class operated by the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).
The design is an evolution from the Yūshio class being slightly larger and with better noise reduction.

SS-585 JDS Hayashio was converted to a training submarine (TSS-3606) on March 7, 2008 / finally decommissioned on March 15, 2011
SS-588 JDS Fuyushio was converted to a training submarine (TSS-3607) on March 15, 2011 / finally decommissioned on March 6, 2015
